I can hardly believe it, but this is the first time I've copied Radio Aparecida at home on 9630 kHz since 05/01/16. That statistic and the very low strength of this signal demonstrates how difficult it is to hear them in Europe, particularly at home. Check out the link below for my most recent outdoor reception using the Eton Satellit and Boni Whip antenna.

Hi there, a nice signal from this Dutch pirate station, with an ID at 00:10 seconds into the recording. Once again, this is the first time I've (knowingly) copied this station.

Hi there, exactly a week after I last copied Radio Caracas, I copied them again. This signal is stronger than most of the South Americans HF right now. It still amazes me that it's possible to hear signals on MW at such great distances - in this case 7438 km.

Hi there, I copied Radio Buenos Aires on 1350 kHz medium wave on 18/09/17; I hadn't heard them since 10/10/16. As it happens, I copied them again, the next morning, at exactly the same time. A clear ID can be heard at 00:37 seconds into the recording.

Hi there, this signal is much more of a challenge than it's neighbour Rádio Clube do Pará on the 60 metre broadcast band. Having said that, this reception on the excellent Icom IC-R75 is the best I can remember in a long time - possibly the best ever at home.

Hi there, I've been Dxing solidly lol for more than two years now, spending countless hours at home and outdoors listening to signals all over HF. I know what to expect when I'm in the shack and I know what's possible when I'm on a DXpedition. On that basis, this rock-solid SSB copy of Rádio Clube do Pará, at home, with the Wellbrook in the garden shed surprised me greatly. The Icom is clearly a very capable receiver and with time, I'll remember all the tips and tricks to squeeze the very best performance out of it. Thus far, however, the signs are very good indeed.

Hi there, I copied Radio Kuwait last month with the Sony ICF-SW100 and AN-71 reel antenna with a nice signal. Here kuwait is coming into Oxford like a local AM with the brilliant Eton Satellit coupled to the equally brilliant Bonito Boni Whip. I love a little ad-hoc DXing session and with everything ready to go from a mini flight case, every trip out of the house is a potential listening session lol.
