One of my final recordings: BBC Radio 4 longwave 198 kHz Shipping Forecast copied on the JRC NRD535

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqSvvvomQh8

Hi there, very nice longwave AM audio with the NRD535 - much nicer than the sometimes slightly muddy sound from the 525. That isn't to say the 525 isn't a great receiver - it really is one of the best ever. As for Radio 4 on longwave...what a shame it's nearly all over (and now it is). Recorded on 05/06/26 at 00:48 hrs BST. Thanks for watching and 73.

S30 'The Pip' on 3756 kHz and the Squeaky Wheel - now another 'pip' on 3363 kHz copied in Oxford UK

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUPO0ljhmUk

Hi there, I guess we are referring to both of these signals as the Pip - well I am at least. There's still life on the shortwave bands! Recorded on 08/07/26 at 00:23 hrs UTC using a JRC NRD535 and a long-wire antenna. Thanks for watching and 73.

SW Bangkok Meteorological Radio 8743 KHz copied in the UK using the JRC NRD535 with antenna matching

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkcxkPrcsR0

Hi there, I never get tired of copying this signal. Often a challenge, for sure, but that makes it all the most satisfying when I hear them - and particularly their 'ice cream van' interval tones! Recorded on 27/07/26 at 23:35 hrs UTC using a Wellbrook ALA1530 magnetic loop as the auxiliary and end-fed wire as the main antenna, into my MFJ noise cancelling unit. Thanks for watching and 73.

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqiGImwwQ28

Rádio Nacional da Amazônia 11780 kHz, Brazil copied in Oxford UK at 00:35: hrs UTC using the IC-R75

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNPQrbM1S6w

Hi there, for obvious reasons, this signal is a difficult catch in the early hours of the morning, UK time. I was therefore pleased to have copied sufficient audio to warrant making this reception video. Recorded using a Wellbrook ALA1530 magnetic loop antenna. Thanks for watching and 73.

Radio Pilipinas 15190.2 kHz copied on the JRC NRD535 with noise cancelling and antenna matching

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Em3r1_98l-k

Hi there, not heard these guys for over two years, so great to copy them again with the NRD535. I had to use SSB because of adjacent channel noise, but nevertheless, decent audio with the assistance of the Bose speaker.

Recorded in Oxford UK on 25/07/26 at 17:58 hrs UTC using a Wellbrook ALA1530 magnetic loop as the auxiliary and end-fed wire as the main antenna.

Thanks for watching and 73.

Recent world events according to North Korea in English; very strong signal on 15.2452 MHz

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPTrWifBSX0

Hi there, it doesn't matter whether you agree or disagree with the DPRK, listening directly to how North Korea interprets what's going on in the world is always compelling as someone who loves radio and DXing. Recorded on25/07/26 18:09 hrs UTC using a JRC NRD535 via an MFJ noise cancelling unit and Howes antenning matcher. Audio via a Bose SoundLink Mini 2 speaker. Thanks for watching and 73.

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QoKiQiROuRw

Hi there, nice to hear Radio Mali again, this time on one of my vintage receivers. It appears that shortwave radio is alive and kicking in that part of Africa! Recorded in Oxford UK on 12/08/26 at 23:35 hrs UTC. Thanks for watching and 73.

Hard-core DX: Radio Mosoj Chaski 3310 kHz Bolivia, copied with the Icom IC-R75 and a Wellbrook loop

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZzKuU2iSfc

Hi there, great to hear some audio from Radio Mosoj Chaski again, this time on the brilliant IC-R75. This is one of the most difficult DX targets from Europe. Recorded in Oxford UK on 29/05/26 at 00:10 hrs UTC. Thanks for watching and 73.

Optimizing the signal from Radio Tarma 4775 kHz Peru with an MFJ Noise Cancelling Signal Enhancer

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rX-_fmGXbk

Hi there, I decided to plug in the MFJ in an attempt to further clean up the signal from Radio Tarma. I haven't followed the instructions - it was way too late to get into that, so the settings for this video are based on my perception of the best signal. Recorded in Oxford UK on 17/06/26 at 01:17 hrs UTC using an end-fed long wire antenna. Thanks for watching and 73.

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_fWSLAgmKo

Hi there, a decent copy of the Voice of Korea on a warm afternoon - 21/05/26 at 15:52 hrs UTC using one of my Wellbrook ALA1530 magnetic loops, via the Bonito/NTi AntennaJet RF splitter. Thanks for watching and 73.

Rádio Nacional da Amazônia 6180 kHz, Brazil, booming into Oxford on the IC-R75 and Wellbrook loop

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2EDAH6b9e0

Hi there, this is one of the strongest regional stations on shortwave...but it has a large area to cover anyway....Brazil is a large country. The IC-R75 is so good on sideband, but when adjacent signals allow, AM Wide delivers quite nice audio. Recorded in Oxford UK on 29/05/26 at xx:xx hrs UTC. Thanks for watching and 73.

Audio copied from Radio Tarma, Peru 4775 kHz using the brilliant Icom IC-R75 - more hard-core DX

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFdbRLaM1YQ

Hi there, I was wondering whether Tarma were TXing on reduced power....but here they are again, this time on the wonderful IC-R75 Recorded in Oxford UK on 29/05/26 at 00:30 hrs UTC using a Wellbrook ALA1530 magnetic loop antenna (outdoors). Thanks for watching and 73.

Rare audio from Radio Mosoj Chaski 3310 kHz Bolivia - this is proper hard-core DX!

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5QWZaP9Gh0

Mosoj Chaski is one of those stations that can be almost impossible to hear from Europe, so DX that can be obtainable doesn't come much more challenging than this. Recorded in Oxford UK on 20/05/26 at 00:32 hrs UTC using a Wellbrook ALA1530 magnetic loop antenna, via a Bonito/NTi AntennaJet RF splitter and a GI1000 galvanic isolator. Thanks for watching and 73.
