Audio from HCJB Ecuador 6050 kHz shortly after their historic World Cup win over Germany

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yk5ZFm4TfTU

They don't seem very excited lol, but perhaps that is the nature of this particular Ecuadorian radio station! Recorded on 26/06/26 at 00:16 hrs UTC using an Elad FDM DUOr and an end-fed wire. Thanks for watching and 73.

Mic issues on comms. from Gander Aeradio 5616 kHz Newfoundland & Labrador, copied with the S2200X

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=puJTRj9S1xw

Hi there, an ok signal from Gander in Canada on the Tecsun S2200x and Wellbrook ALA1530 magnetic loop antenna. I know I keep saying it, but the S2200x is a worthy addition to any shack. Recorded on 10/05/26 at 23:33 hrs via a Bonito/NTi AntennaJet RF spitter. Thanks for watching and 73.

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IKUFFGtNd4

Hi there, this is a first catch of E07 on this frequency - and nice to do it with the newly acquired JRC NRD525. Check out Priyom.org for a full numbers station schedue. Recorded in Oxford UK on 05/06/26 at 15:20 hrs UTC using a Bonito MegaLoop FX antenna via a GI1000 galvanic isolator. Thanks for watching and 73.

First audio copied from Radio Mosoj Chaski 3310 kHz Bolivia, since August 2025

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nMoaZkLWVE

Hi there, great to finally hear some audio from Bolivia again after an absence of nearly 9 months. I check often, but their signal has been so weak there was never a chance of any modulation above my fairly low noise floor. Recorded in Oxford UK on 20/05/26 at 23:56 hrs UTC using a Wellbrook ALA1530 magnetic loop antenna, via a Bonito/NTi AntennaJet RF splitter and a GI1000 galvanic isolator. Thanks for watching and 73.

Channel Marker 'L' copied for the first time on 5156.8 kHz - TX site believed to be St. Petersburg

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCp4Lzk-uuM

Hi there, don't read the frequency on the rig, this narrow channel marker signal carrier is actually 0.8 kHz. Great to record this signal for the first time. Recorded in Oxford, UK on 10/05/26 at 23;27 hrs UTC using a Wellbrook ALA1530 magnetic loop antenna (outdoors) via a Bonito/NTi AntennaJet RF splitter. Thanks for watching and 73.

FT8 contacts with only 1 Watt TX power from the Icom IC-705 + AH-705 automatic antenna matching unit

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkIM-YMuvx4

Hi there, I decided to have another go at low-power FT8 last night. I have been known to throw up to 300W at FT8, but it's actually more rewarding to make contacts with low power. Here's a few and a narrative. Thanks for watching and 73.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sEZXwld_BE

Hi there, I don't often listen to comms from Shanwick, but had a go the other evening. Coming in loud and clear to my QTH near Oxford. Recorded on 09/05/26 at 22:59 hrs UTC using a Wellbrook ALA1530 magnetic loop antenna, via a Bonito/NTo AntennaJet RF splitter. Thanks for watching and 73.

Voice of Korea (DPRK) on 12015 kHz Russian Service closing down - copied with the Tecsun S2200x

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oy7Zxs0TXuM

Hi there, a decent afternoon signal from the DPRK closing down their Russian Service. I've not listened out for the Voice of Korea for some time, but here they are again, still going on shortwave. Recorded in Oxford UK on 08/05/26 at 15:55 hrs UTC using a Wellbrook ALA1530 magnetic loop antenna. Thanks for watching and 73.

First ever copy of Bangkok VOLMET (HSD) on 11387 kHz from Oxford, UK, using the Yaesu FRG-8800

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Owdld9GoN88

Hi there, this is a weak signal but a first ever catch for me, which is always great. At least now I know it's possible to copy VOLMET from Thailand, I will be checking this frequency more often to obtain a better signal. Recorded on 30/04/26 at 23:11 hrs UTC using a Wellbrook ALA1530 magnetic loop antenna, outdoors, via a Bonito/NTi AntennaJet RF splitter. Thanks for watching and 73.

The 'Buzzer' UVB-76/NZhTI on 4625 kHz with a strong signal into Oxford UK this morning

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXRs3vNc34E

Hi there, The Buzzer has been weak at best for a long time now, until the early hours of this morning that is. Great to hear that Cold War artifact again on a radio that almost matches the era! Recorded on 08/07/26 at 00:15 hrs UTC using a JRC NRD535 and a long-wire antenna. Thanks for watching and 73.

Testing the Elad FDM DUOr with the DX signal from Radio Tarma Peru 4775 kHz in ECSS mode

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EspG5-1UXRA

Hi there, I haven't used the Elad very much and part of the reason for that is because it's a pain copying video from the screen - until now - I'm using the MicroSoft snipping tool and it's become a piece of cake lol. The Elad is one of the most capable receivers in my collection and I need to use it more! Recorded in Oxford UK on 26/06/26 at 00:26 hrs UTC using an end-fed wire antenna. Thanks for watching and 73.

After 100 years of the BBC on longwave, the last ever Shipping Forecast on 198 kHz and shut down

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNZjqHytikU

Hi there, a second recording of the last minutes of Radio 4 on 198 kHz, this time with the Icom IC-R8600 via my end-fed wire and audio piped through the Bose SoundLink Mini 2 speaker. Thanks for the century of broadcasting on longwave BBC, a shame it had to end, and thanks to my brilliant subscribers for watching. Good listening and 73.

A strong signal from Rádio Nacional da Amazônia 6180 kHz, Brazil, copied with the Tecsun S2200x

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIVGz-Vdx_0

Hi there, this was a much nicer signal from Rádio Nacional da Amazônia than previously copied on this radio. I hope I'm helping to dispel some myths about this radio...it's actually very good indeed, both in terms of sensitivity and selectivity. Also, with adjustable attenuation, high-end dynamic range is also excellent. Recorded in Oxford UK on 08/05/26 at 00:08 hrs UTC using a Wellbrook ALA1530 magnetic loop antenna, via a Bonito/NTi AntennaJet RF splitter. Thanks for watching and 73.

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVEXzR9jzmk

Hi there, another copy of New York Radio ATC, this time on the DSP2 using a Wellbrook ALA1530 magnetic loop antenna, via the Bonito/NTi AntennaJet RF splitter - with no galvanic isolator. Pleased with this copy on the little Malahit. Recorded on 28/04/26 at 00:40 hrs UTC. Thanks for watching and 73.

CHU Canada time signal 7850 kHz copied with the JRC NRD535 - one of the last times I ever heard it

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsaPg_zU4hU

Hi there, it's very sad that the CHU time signal has gone forever. I recorded this signal and 3330 kHz, to find both were challenging, with the lower frequency much more so. I know it's only a time signal, but it will be missed by many - even as a propagation marker. Recorded in Oxford UK on 17/06/26 at 00:32 hrs using an end-fed long wire antenna. Thanks for watching and 73.
