Radio Mosoj Chaski 3310 kHz, Bolivia copied on the JRC NRD535 and my amateur radio end-fed wire
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EcHkBQrQkY
Hi there, great to copy audio again from Bolivia on my end-fed wire I use for my amateur radio activities. I think this set-up was actually working slightly better than my Wellbrook loop that evening. The signal picks up as the recording progresses. Recorded in Oxford UK on 13/06/26 at 00:07 hrs UTC. Thanks for watching and 73.
Voice of Korea KCBS 15.2452 MHz Korean service to Europe copied at midnight UK time
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3hiOukq-oc
Hi there, it's been a long time since I copied a Voice of Korea KCBS transmission...and I didn't expect it to be on the 19m band at midnight. Recorded in Oxford on 03/06/26 using a Yaesu FRG-8800 and Wellbrook ALA1530 magnetic loop via an NTi AntennaJet RF splitter and GI1000 galvanic isolator. Thanks for watching and 73.

The Tecsun S2200x stands up well against the JRC NRD535 on recovered audio: WMLK Bethel on 15150 kHz
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x56qDUPAYIM
Hi there, the Tecsun performs as well as the NRD535 on this (albeit) quite strong daylight signal from Pennsylvania. Let me know what you think - note I am using the same antenna for both radios. Recorded in Oxford UK on 29/08/26 at 15:20 UTC using a Wellbrook ALA1530 magnetic loop via an NTi AntennaJet RF splitter and GI1000 galvanic isolator. Thanks for watching and 73.

Indoor reception of the BBC World Service on 17640 kHz shortwave using the S2200x telescopic antenna
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edP6qZbM3fg
Hi there, I always listen to the football on the Radio on a Saturday and Sunday afternoon.....and of course it has to be medium wave AM! Whilst doing so last weekend, I wondered whether it would be possible to copy the same broadcast on shortwave via the World Service, with an indoor antenna...turns out it was! Recorded on 13/09/26 at 16:49 hrs UTC. Thanks for watching and 73.

A scan through the shortwave bands with the Tecsun S-2200x on a very warm September afternoon
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3cF0eOhRT8
Hi there, up to my usual tricks, getting out into the garden as soon as the sun comes out! Nothing better than some autumn sunshine to make you feel like summer weather might not be completely over for another year! Here the S-2200x demonstrates how there is still a lot to listen to on shortwave!
Thanks for watching and 73.

MLite-880: testing sensitivity, audio bandwidth & noise reduction on a signal from North Korea DPRK
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9bT3sSj040
Hi there, this Voice of Korea French Service signal was copied in Oxford UK, on 10/09/26 at 14:07 hrs UTC, using a Wellbrook ALA1530 magnetic loop. The noise reduction and audio bandwidth options work very well indeed.
So far, so good with this clever little radio.
Thanks for watching and 73.

Enjoying the September warmth in Oxford with a discussion on the MLite-880 versus the DSP2 and more
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pf5z_1DBiEM
Hi there, I'm still obsessed with autumn sunshine - it means I don't have to say goodbye to summer vibes just yet! Nothing better than sat in the garden, rattling on about radio! Thanks for watching and 73.

Wow! Audio on the MLite-880 from one of the hardest DX targets: Radio Mosoj Chaski, Bolivia 3310 kHz
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHrfbuYpb0A
Hi there, this was an amazing catch on the MLite-880 - recovered audio from Radio Mosoj Chaski using a long-wire antenna. This clearly demonstrates the sensitivity of this brilliant little radio that thus far, I had not observed. Try to ignore the adjacent QRM! Recorded in Oxford UK on 24/09/2026 at 00:46 hrs UTC. Thanks for watching and 73.

My last unpublished recording of BBC Radio 4 on198 kHz Longwave
The last one....
Copied on 26/05/26 at 23:48 hrs UTC using the Wellbrook ALA1530 magnetic loop antenna via a Bonito AntennaJet RF splitter and GI1000 galvanic isolator. Thanks for watching and 73.Friday, 18 September 2026
Easy update to the latest version of the MLite-880 firmware (v1.5.8) on a MS Windows 11 laptop
Hi there, installing the latest version of the firmware adds some new features such as, selectable sidebands on synchronous AM, an inactivity auto-off timer, battery voltage display, and several performance bug fixes. Worth a few minutes of your time if you have an older version of the firmware.

LITEMALADSP MLite-880 SDR portable radio: testing the noise reduction circuit on AM and USB signals
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOATr1EJ11g
Hi there, a quick, first test of the MLite-880 portable radio. I'm quite impressed with most elements of this radio, but the audio quality is not as good as I had hoped for. Thanks for watching and 73.

Rare audio from Radio Mosoj Chaski 3310 kHz, Bolivia, copied on the JRC NRD535 and Wellbrook loop
Hi there, audio from Bolivia on 3310 kHz is actually quite rare in my shack, so it was good to copy this - one of the most difficult DX targets from Europe with my ALA1530 magnetic loop, via a Bonito/NTi AntennaJet RF splitter and GI1000 galvanic isolator. Recorded in Oxford UK on 16/06/26 at 00:35 hrs UTC via an NTi AntennaJet RF splitter and GI1000 galvanic isolator. Thanks for watching and 73.

LITEMALADSP MLite-880 SDR portable radio: what's in the box and first impressions
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrMR_svfRps
Hi there, I hope you guys had a great summer. There's been quite a lot of (mostly positive) hype surrounding the MLite-880 which eventually piqued my interest sufficiently to purchase one. Here are my initial thoughts and forward plans with this little radio. Thanks for watching and 73.Tuesday, 8 September 2026
Reach Beyond Australia 15400 kHz, copied with the JRC NRD535 and Wellbrook ALA1530 magnetic loop
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCgpp9c09ic
Hi there, a really nice signal from Australia on the NRD535. I have the audio routed through my Bose SoundLink Mini2 speaker. This rig is supposed to have better audio than my 525, but I'm not so sure - and I have a direct comparison video coming soon. Recorded in Oxford UK on 11/06/26 at 13:43 hrs UTC.

Radio Tarma, 4775 kHz Peru, re-emerges from the ether for the first time since August 2025
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kivfAGevrQ
Hi there, Radio Tarma has been so weak for many months now, so much so, that I started to wonder whether they are operating on lower power. Great to finally copy them again on the NRD535. Recorded in Oxford UK on 10/06/26 at 00:59 hrs UTC using a Bonito MegaLoop FX antenna via a GI1000 galvanic isolator. Thanks for watching and 73.

Voice of Korea (DPRK) 15.2452 MHz Spanish Service copied in the UK at 23:50 hrs local time
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0BBUODZXMc
Hi there, slightly surprised to hear North Korea's Spanish service at ten to midnight in the UK. Their signal was coming in quite well given they were on the 19m band. Recorded using a Yaesu FRG-8800 and Wellbrook ALA1530 magnetic loop antenna via an NTi AntennaJet RF splitter and GI1000 galvanic isolator. Thanks for watching and 73.
