  1. FT8 allows me to make the best out of a difficult QTH location. Only ever get 50w into a poor wire aerial. But JA, VK, ZS, PY, NA east coast gallore, occasionally west coast, Falklands, LU, and many more. Could never have done it with SSB, certainly not CW as I'm still trying to learn it. It's great experience due to loads of fine tuning and once you are past the marathon FT8 sessions you look at optimising your operating skill. And don't forget, just do a few CQs on a dead band, who knows whos lurking there.
